La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Tucson East

The staff were pleasant, breakfast was good, and the coffee was very good. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, and I'd definitely stay here again. Prices are fair if you book through the front desk. Ask for this hotel's front desk directly, because if you get transferred to “the reservation desk,” that's Expedia and they'll charge quite a bit more. Expedia also makes you pay everything up front, with the risk that it's nonrefundable. Thanks, La Quinta staff!

The shower couldn't be used because the tub was filthy and its shower button was simply missing. There was hair and dirt on the tub floor. When I called around 1 am after a long night, nobody could do anything, and the guy I spoke with didn't seem to care. There were no other rooms available. Someone came to look at the shower in the morning, but I was leaving anyway. The room was dirty and dingy, like the outside, with very few outlets. I'm afraid of bed bugs, though so far I haven't found any. The building looks outdated and low rent, almost like a low-income apartment complex; there isn't an obvious elevator, parking was fair, Denny's is in the same lot, and there is a pool. Breakfast was free but disappointing: runny eggs, unlabeled food, and a tip jar for the caterer. I'd suggest better cookware and presentation, and labels on the food. This is a MOTEL, and the experience fits what I associate with motels: cheap and for low income. It looked like they'd given up on the rooms. Google showed around $80 a night, but Expedia charged me $180 plus a $100 security deposit at the front desk for Valentines Weekend. If you're desperate for a warm bed, maybe book here. Otherwise, if you can afford more, go to the Hilton or try somewhere else. Your money is worth more. If booking through Expedia, just go to the Hilton.

The location is the only thing I liked. I'd stayed here several years ago and booked again, but the hotel isn't the same. The front desk staff were friendly, but the place was dirty: stained towels and sheets, dust everywhere, smelly rooms, and lampshades scratched up like cats had been at them. The beds were hard as rocks and the pillows seemed a decade old. There was soda and trash all around the property, the dog grass area wasn't cared for, and there were no pool towels or real amenities. Breakfast was food, but nothing worth the hype. At $150-$180 a night, it feels like a rip-off. I'll most likely never stay again.

SCAM ALERT, avoid booking this property. We stayed for two days in Dec, 2025, and it was the worst hotel experience we've ever had. They provided used toiletries, which felt like a cost-saving tactic, and the room was dirty, with dirt and food residue on the floor. There was also a bobby pin on the floor, a serious safety issue that could have injured us if we hadn't been careful. The staff were rude and didn't care about our problems, seeming to dodge responsibility. There's no elevator. They put us in a room far away, saying it was because we'd booked through third-party Agoda. We asked for a ground-floor room because we had heavy luggage, but they refused and put us on level 2, again blaming our Agoda booking. Even the breakfast schedule display was hidden instead of being kept at the front desk, as is usual, making it easy for guests to miss the breakfast window. That seemed like another cost-saving tactic.
