Ramada by Wyndham Viscount Suites Tucson East

Our room has a front living area, so the separation between rooms is good, and the location is good too. That’s about it. We came to see family while working remotely, and the WiFi was worse than on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. We had to use our phone hotspots. Even getting Netflix to run was laughable. The front desk admitted, “The WiFi here is really bad.” We arrived Saturday, and by Thursday housekeeping still hadn’t come. They only came after I called because we needed supplies replenished, including toilet paper. I had to pick up two rolls from the front desk twice. Breakfast is food, but it should be free, as it is. We’ve seen little flies or bugs now and then, and there’s a rotten egg, sewer water smell that seems to rise from under the floor into our room at random, too often, and it’s gag inducing. They claim to have a heated pool, but it was about 70 at best, maybe the 90 degree Arizona summer sun heats it. It’s also the most dated pool ever. This place has a ton of potential, but needs a serious facelift and more. Please keep looking at other area hotels. We’re here now, and there are better choices. We’ll never stay here again.

For what I paid, I expected much better. The furniture looks like it might have been stylish when it was installed 40 years ago. Check the pictures before choosing this dump. The hotel name is written on the pillows, so if you take them, someone will know you took them unethically. I couldn’t shower or bathe in my room: the tub valve was broken, so the shower pressure didn’t work, and there was no drain plug. The bedroom TV didn’t work, and even if yours does, expect only local news channels. If you get cold, good luck, the AC only moves cold air. With how filthy everything was, I’m surprised there were no bed bugs. There was no mattress encasement, which surprised me given how many other reviews mention bed bugs. At least I got a night of relative comfort, so two stars.

The front desk staff were kind, helpful, and clearly doing their best to accommodate me. They deserve a better place to represent. The property felt dark, dated, and depressing because it was in such disrepair, and I hope management invests in major improvements. I had to move through four rooms because each had something wrong: a TV or AC that didn’t work, nonfunctioning phones, missing garbage cans, a shower head spraying everywhere, lamps without bulbs, and even doors missing a security latch. It was an extremely disappointing stay at Ramada by Wyndham Viscount Suites Tucson East.

Breakfast was good, but the rest was just alright and should’ve been better for the price. The floors were so dirty our feet turned brown walking from the shower to the bed. The TV barely worked on both nights we stayed, and the curtains wouldn’t close all the way.
