Americana Motel

I took a chance after seeing some recent reviews, but the place didn't meet even my low expectations. There were stains on the carpets and comforters, dust everywhere, and what looked and smelled like mold. The strong, cheap cleaner smell gave me a headache, and the odor seemed like it would take a year to wash off. There was so much hair on the sheets you could knit a sweater with it. The room smelled like cleaning products, but felt like one of the nastiest places I've been. I sleep in my truck a lot, and it's cleaner than this. I left immediately and lost $50. The no-refund sign is prominently placed behind the counter, which makes me think this happens often. The shower drain had hair in it, and I couldn't imagine sleeping in that bed. There were also lots of locals living there at a cheap rate, which was a red flag for me. You do you, but I'd avoid this spot. I wish people were more honest in their reviews. The place could be made much nicer with a bank loan and some elbow grease, but it seems they bought an old property and are counting on the signs and nostalgia to do the rest.
