Extended Stay America Suites Seattle Southcenter

I needed some time and therapy before I could talk about how upsetting this stay was. It was me, my wife, and our 6-year-old autistic son, and we were there for two weeks, paying $600 a week. Each morning I drove our son to school and came back. When I checked in, I got a key card and was told it was good through February 12. The receipt didn't say when the next payment was due, and nobody reached us while we were there to explain it. On February 6, after I dropped my son at school, I got a call telling me to pack and leave because corporate wanted us out. They said they had tried to notify me by knocking once the previous morning and leaving a note on the door. I had been away taking my son to school, as I had every morning for weeks. I had the money ready to pay as soon as they called, even enough for a whole month in advance, though they only let us pay one week at a time. Still, leaving was not optional. We couldn't pay and stay in our room or book another room. We had several carloads of belongings after living there with our child, but that didn't matter. The staff said it was corporate's decision, so I called corporate. They said the people at the building had already decided and it was out of their hands. We were told to pack quickly and get off the property. A note, or a real effort to reach us while I was away, could have prevented all this confusion. They showed no empathy for my family. I'll never stay there again.
