The room wasn't large, but it was comfortable and had what I needed: the microwave heated my food, the fridge kept drinks cold, and the coffee maker gave me hot water for tea. I skip breakfast, so I can't speak to that. Wi-Fi took a little fiddling once or twice, but it worked well enough to stream on my phone. Housekeeping freshened the bed and towels and took out the trash while I was away, exactly what I wanted. The front desk clerk was especially helpful. She noticed my second-floor booking and offered a first-floor room. My knee had been acting up, so I gladly accepted, and she made the change right away and showed me where to go. The room itself was spotless and had a fresh modern renovation, with nice laminate floors and a small but well-kept bathroom. The vanity was great, and the fresh tissues came in handy during a very cold couple of nights in January. I knew the area and what sort of hotel I was booking. It's a budget place, and for basic business travel it suits me well: close to where I need to be, clean, and comfortable. I got the towels, washcloth, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, plus lotion and conditioner. I've paid a lot more for rooms in worse shape. I've already booked another stay.

The location is right on a main road, so it won't suit you if you're after somewhere quiet and tucked away. Rooms do have a microwave and mini fridge, and the staff were super helpful. The accommodations are clean and modern. Breakfast is basic but does the job: cereal, yogurt, bagels, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. Coffee is available in the lobby around the clock.

What stands out most is how welcome the staff make you feel. The front desk folks have that plain Tennessee friendliness, almost like you're family, and management made me feel appreciated. The hotel is clearly well run, and the two people who clean my room each day are so kind and attentive to the details. Their reliable service alone would make me want to stay here. My room was spacious, cooled wonderfully, and had a big TV with a great picture and colors. The shower water got perfectly hot, and the room layout seemed thoughtfully planned. The exterior looks attractive, and the adjoining Mexican Restaurant adds a festive touch to the grounds. There's a nice little breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, orange juice, and coffee. The employees greet you with a smile, too.

For the price, this is a great place to stay. The pool was closed because of what they called "underground damage," which was a bummer for the kids. The bathroom also showed its age around the floors and baseboards, and the remodel wasn't finished perfectly, so the door wouldn't shut all the way. Still, the room was quiet and clean, the beds were soft, and the pillows were full and comfortable. The floors were much better than old carpet, and both the mini fridge and microwave were clean. The tub looked freshly redone, and the exhaust fan was quieter than any bathroom fan I've had before. The restaurant out front was pretty good with a large menu, and the free breakfast bar was good, though the portions were small. I didn't find any bugs or roaches.

My husband and I left in the middle of the night. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the room smelled of smoke, and it was noisy enough that we couldn't sleep. I had booked through booking.com for Saturday through Monday. When I tried to check out on Sunday instead, the morning front desk person said she couldn't do it and that I had to go through booking.com. From my first interaction with her she was rude and unhelpful. I think her name may have been Cora. She told the manager I was hostile and a problem. When I asked to speak to the manager she had on the phone, she claimed it was her husband, then let me speak to the manager after I said I'd heard the manager's name. The afternoon staff member was friendly and tried to help, but there wasn't anything she could do. We went to the Baymont down the road and had a much better experience. My husband's company usually sends me to check out hotels and motels, and may book as many as 10 rooms for a month when working in the area. I would not recommend this hotel. The company stayed at Quality inn in Winchester and had an amazing experience. We've used choice hotels for years, and this is the first time I've written a review like this. If you're black, I would not stay here. I believe the morning staff member is racist. In response to the manager: you are quick to say things are untrue, but your front desk is racist and your hotels smell and are horrible. It's crazy that you have time to answer reviews but not booking.com, because they've definitely been reaching out. I sent the tape to booking.com, so this is true. Because of the treatment, I'll definitely try to get you removed from booking.com too. I sent it to choice hotels because, as a member, I'm allowed to check in early, and your hotel is unacceptable. One more thing: I never said the bed made noise. I said it was hard and uncomfortable. Another review said it made noise, but you don't address the problems, you just say everyone is lying. I actually have footage.
