OYO Hotel Tulsa International Airport

The location was okay, the room was nice and clean, and we stayed two days. The front desk clerk was a friendly, very nice gentleman. It was a little odd that they didn’t have change for a cash deposit, so bring exact change and take pictures of any problems. There were stains on the white sheets and no TV remote. I wasn’t very concerned about the stains until checkout, when a woman inspecting the room before we left insisted they hadn’t been there before we checked in. I told her we’d seen them when we first looked over the room. She sounded arrogant and charged me $5 for some black debris on the bed. I understood that charge. The room was non-smoking, and it’s possible my wife came in after smoking outside and put her shoes on the bed while we were packing.

The room I got wasn’t the one I’d booked, and they made a fuss when I asked for a towel or toilet paper. There wasn’t any toilet paper, the sheets and floors were dirty, and after killing bug after bug, I tried to sleep anyway. But I could feel them crawling on me, so I got up and left. The shower didn’t work, which is why I didn’t end up needing that towel. The place was disgusting. They need to improve their hospitality and stop renting rooms that aren’t habitable. I’ll never stay at an OYO hotel again.

The bathroom door had someone else's jacket hanging on its inside. We also found cigarette butts in the toilet, hair on the seat and in the shower, and a dead roach on the floor. On arrival, we noticed what looked like blood and bodily fluids on a decorative pillow and the couch. When we went to bed, the mattress had only a cover sheet, with no fitted sheet or blanket. The office said they couldn't get us one until the manager arrived the next morning, but couldn't say when that would be. At least our deposit was returned. Given what we experienced and what I'd read about the place in recent months, I can't recommend it.

After refusing to give me the corporate office number, the clerk told me to leave the property. I was angry by then, but I had only asked for my money back and hadn't raised my voice. I paid by debit card, and he threatened to call the police. Weeks later, customer service replied by email that they wouldn't refund me, saying I was in a foreign country. It took me that long just to reach them, since email was the only contact option I found. I had booked on the drive from Springfield and was already exhausted, in pain, and dealing with a broken neck from a recent car wreck. First I waited an hour while the clerk tried to give a woman with three kids a room without a key card. She'd have to ask the office to open the door whenever it shut. Then I was told I needed a $50 cash deposit, even though I'd already paid for the room. He wouldn't take my card, and the lobby ATM was broken. I just wanted to lie down, and the whole situation felt ridiculous. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in, even after hundreds of stays for work all over the country. I felt ripped off and wouldn't recommend it.
