Quality Inn Tulsa-Downtown West

The rooms were extremely clean, and there was a hot shower, free breakfast, and food close by. The woman at the front desk at 11:00am on August 8th made checkout easy and was wonderful with customers. I had to wait for a taxi in the lobby, and she was kind and respectful to everyone. She even wrote down the number for taxis and a travel agency for a man who was hard of hearing. I think her name was Mel. Thank you for the hospitality.

I booked the King Suite with a Jacuzzi tub, a spacious shower, and a balcony. It was clean, comfortable, and well kept. The highlight was Ms. Mel, who was incredibly kind and helpful. She checked that I was comfortable and reassured me about the stay. The hotel is older, but the price and amenities make it a fantastic deal. There was some noise from other guests. I asked them politely to keep it down, and they were respectful, so it felt more like talking to a neighbor at home than dealing with a hotel problem. I usually stay at Marriott or Hilton properties and was skeptical, but my stay at the Quality Inn in downtown Tulsa changed my perspective. It exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely return if I'm in Tulsa. Huge thanks to Ms. Mel for her hospitality. If you want a budget friendly, comfortable place with good service, I highly recommend it.

The staff were excellent and understood why we couldn't tolerate the smell. They checked us back out right away and gave us a full refund, but we won't return. The building is older, which didn't seem like a problem since we only needed a place to sleep. But the room was hard to overlook. It smelled of stale smoke from years of cigarette use, not like someone had just smoked. The mini fridge still had the last guest's things inside, the mirrors were streaked, and there was dust on surfaces that should have been wiped down. The smoke smell was overwhelming, and we started doubting the room had been cleaned. We'd booked it before a concert, intending to lie down, but ended up getting our refund and leaving. I wish we'd read more reviews first.

Thirteen days after our visit, our credit card was still fighting to get the refund, and the hotel was making it difficult. Avoid this place at all costs. At the entrance, where guests pull in to unload, several men were camped out in lawn chairs. The front desk guy called them “construction guys checking on rates.” They were all wearing one color, and the area felt secluded and shady. My wife was scared to stay in the parking lot and asked whether we were armed. I only went inside to cancel our reservation, which they did easily, as if this happened regularly. After the owner responded, I don't see what homelessness or elevator repairs have to do with allowing people to loiter at the hotel entrance. I live in Tulsa and we were just there for a short getaway. This isn't common in Tulsa, it's common where it's allowed. The person at the desk seemed unconcerned, which only made me more sure the hotel doesn't care.
