There was no breakfast, not even the grab-and-go option they’re supposed to have. They only had coffee. The large room came without sheets or blankets for the pull-out couch, and there was no soap in the bathroom for a shower. The hallway and stair carpets were disgusting, the WiFi was slower than old dial-up, and neither the remote nor the TV’s power button worked. Nobody came up to fix it. This was the worst Super 8 and the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

The man at the desk was really nice and helpful, and that, along with having stayed in worse places, is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. The first room was supposed to be nonsmoking but smelled like smoking happened in it regularly. There was graffiti on the bathroom door, a broken dresser with drawers hanging out, and it didn’t look like it had been cleaned in a long time. The toilet wouldn’t flush, so we asked for another room. That one was a little cleaner and smelled less, but there was still hair on the bedsheets. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned well.

The rooms were very large and nice, and everything worked. The bathroom was still a bit dirty, with toothpaste on the wall, an unchanged floor mat towel, and a tub drain that had come loose and was sitting in the middle of the tub. A laundry bag in the room would’ve been nice, though maybe that’s nitpicky. For the price, with a decent breakfast, it was very nice.

The front desk attendant was incredibly kind, and this complaint isn't about him. We were exhausted and arrived late with my family, so we just needed somewhere to sleep. But the room was dirty, with stained furniture and a smell that took your breath away. We didn't even feel comfortable showering there. The indoor pool was tiny, more like something for little kids, and the people staying at the hotel partied loudly all night. I also wouldn't feel safe walking around there with children. People living at the hotel even asked my dad for money while he was trying to eat breakfast. This did not feel like a safe place for a traveling family.

The kids had a good time at the pool, and breakfast was basic waffle-and-cereal stuff but still good. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the man at the desk was welcoming and helpful. He brought extra pillows without any trouble. We'd happily stay at this Super 8 again.
