Spark by Hilton Tumwater

The room was clean and nice, and both the bed and pillows were really comfortable. Breakfast had a great variety, too. The staff were helpful and very friendly. We'll definitely stay again, and I'd happily recommend this hotel to family and friends. Five stars from me.

The room was nicely arranged, clean, and pleasant. I stayed in 224, and it didn't smell like urine, unlike an earlier complaint. The single plastic cup was unwrapped but clean, and there was just one breakfast item missing, though I couldn't tell what it was. What I hadn't seen mentioned in the recent reviews was how clearly you can hear people in the next room talking, doing things, and watching TV. They were up until 2 a.m., and so was I. After traveling more than eight hours, I just wanted to sleep, so I didn't go downstairs to ask for another room. A single-cup coffee maker in the room would be nice, especially with checkout not until noon.

I was glad to be able to grab a bagel and head out, since I didn't have time to sit down for breakfast. The bed was super comfortable, and the room was nice and clean, though nothing fancy. The lobby looked nice, but the dim hallway and dated look as I stepped out of the elevator had me a little worried. It worked just fine for what I needed, a place to crash before carrying on to Seattle.

Late checkout was easy to arrange, which left the stay feeling relaxed instead of rushed. The front desk service was excellent even while they were busy. Roland was especially warm, helpful, and attentive in a way that felt natural, so tell him we said hello if you stay. The room was more spacious than the photos suggested. In this age of over-filtered listings, it was refreshing that Spark by Hilton delivered what it showed online, without surprise fees or things turning out to be excluded. It's not the fanciest hotel, and doesn't pretend to be. It knows what it is, does that well, and never tries to dress it up as something else.
