Hampton Inn Turlock

I ended up moving to a nearby Hilton after finding what I think were ants in my room. They were tiny, so I couldn't tell for sure, but I killed about a dozen before I went to the front desk. The woman there was extremely kind and helpful, and since this hotel was sold out, she arranged another room for me at the neighboring Hilton.

There were cleanliness problems in every room I was given: water leaking in the bathroom in the first, a clogged sink in the second, and a stain on the sheets in the third. I've stayed at no-name hotels that were cleaner. Check the other one-star reviews and you'll see people pointing out the same lack of cleanliness.

Breakfast comes with the stay and was excellent, and the staff were great too. The room had no microwave, though, and the price felt high.

I need a good night's sleep, and the hard mattress made that difficult. They'd recently renovated the hotel, but the bed felt like the place they cut costs. Outside, I saw homeless people using drugs between the bushes, and people living in rundown cars parked between the Denny’s and the Hampton Inn. Signs against overnight parking seem needed. I checked the reviews before booking and thought they looked good, so this is my honest take.
