Bay View Villas by Tybee Vacation Rentals

This Tybee Island condo is our favorite vacation spot. I usually don't like returning to the same place on vacation, but we fell in love with it and have been back six times in eight years. The ocean is calm, with few waves, and dolphins often swim close by. The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.

This was our third stay in these condos out of four trips to Tybee Island. The condo was cozy, just the right size for five of us, and had everything we needed. My parents are elderly, and they managed the short boardwalk walk to the beach. The views from the balcony were breathtaking. During our October 2025 visit, both the elevator and front gates were out of order, with no signs to let guests know. The elevator problem was especially inconvenient with my parents along. We'll be back, hopefully with a working elevator.

The view was great, but the place wasn't well maintained. We stayed in 205 B. Some bulbs were out, the balcony chairs were rusty, and the hammock was broken. The elevator hardly ever worked and had last been inspected in 2020. After a storm, the power came back but the elevator still didn't work. My father-in-law uses a walker, and when we booked we were told the elevator would be available. Because it was out, he couldn't manage the stairs and spent three days stuck in the condo. We called the office several times and were told nothing could be done, so we finally had to call the fire department to get him downstairs. The day after we checked in, I called to ask for a bulb replacement. Maintenance came by, said he'd get his tools, then never returned. The office also didn't return our repeated calls. Management never apologized, just said thanks for staying. We loved the island, but we'll never stay at Bay View Villa again and wouldn't recommend it.

The place was beautiful and in a great location. The only downside was getting stuck in the elevator, which was broken.
