Savannah Beach Racquet Club

We visit every year through Tybee Vacation Rental. The grounds are always well kept, there’s plenty of parking, and the gated property feels private and keeps the beach from getting crowded. The beach is walkable, and the pool is large enough for a nice swim, with a kiddie pool for little ones. My only issue was during our last visit: we were on the third floor and the elevators were out of order. Carrying a week's luggage for four people up and down the stairs in 95-degree weather wasn't my favorite part of the trip. Everything else about the property was great.

Building B 212 had a nice view of the North Beach, and from our balcony we saw tons of dolphins every day, along with sunsets, thunderstorms, cargo ships, fighter jets, and Coast Guard operations. The condo was super clean and well equipped for a comfortable weeklong stay, with cold A/C, a hot shower, and nice furnishings. Huc-a-Poos and Tybean coffee shops were a short walk away. We really enjoyed the week and will most definitely stay again.

Tybee Island was simply awesome. The stay itself was a different story. I believe the property monitor was named "Debra," and her approach made it hard to enjoy the festivities. She seemed to take her job way too seriously, hiding around the building corner to count how many people left a room and following guests back from the pool to check whether anything had been left in the hallway. We won't stay at that property again, and about three other groups we met said the same. The condo owners need to get rid of her.

We had a really enjoyable stay and would come back. The gated community had a nice feel, and the quiet, beautiful beach and lovely sunsets made it feel great for families. The view was great too. The main pool was a hit with our family, though it needs a thorough cleaning and some repairs: the concrete edge was chipping and cracking. The laundry rooms could use a change machine since they charge $3 in quarters. At the first-floor laundry in the B building, the soap dispenser took my money; I got the stuck item out, but it was old and dried up.
