Candlewood Suites Tyler by IHG

My company put us up here for a job, but the hotel was disgusting. There were rusted kitchen utensils, cabinets coming off the wall, stained hallway walls, and stains on the fridge that looked like they were from roaches. Roaches came out from behind the fridge, and there was visible roach killer all over the rooms, with a very strong smell. The tub was visibly damaged, outlets were broken in the walls, and floor trim was missing. We were booked for full beds but got twin beds. They said they'd given our rooms to other people, then charged us a $150 incidental deposit. After we checked in, just 1-2 hours later, the guy downstairs said we wouldn't get the deposit back. They kept asking which hotel we were switching to and were rude once we said we were checking out and changing hotels. Don't stay here. If you do, inspect the rooms and take pictures of everything.

Jazmine made check-in great. The room was thoughtfully laid out and used its space well. It's an IHG property, so loyalty members can earn points. We did have a few minor housekeeping issues, possibly due to holiday staffing, but overall it was a good stay and I'd recommend this location.

The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, and the location worked well for what I needed, near major roads. They had extra food and essentials on hand, which made my long workdays easier. The room was good, but it needs to stay cold. I turned up the A/C a bit because I don't like it too cold, and some of my trainers started growing mold. It may have already been an issue with the shoes, but that had never happened at my house. There are trails along the creek behind the property that are nice for walking or biking.

Shannon and the ENTIRE staff at the Tyler Candlewood are AMAZING. We travel a lot for construction work, and my crews are treated BEYOND well here. Communication with the staff is top tier. We won't stay anywhere else in Tyler, and it seems others feel the same way because the hotel is always full. Thanks to all of you. See you soon! Marshal Renee Construction :)
