Comfort Suites Tyler South

The room itself was clean, nice, and had the amenities listed. I was on the quiet third floor and slept well. But at 8am a hotel employee banged on my door and then came in even though my Do Not Disturb sign was up. My latch stopped them, thankfully, but it scared me. Breakfast was included, which I appreciated, yet when I came down at 8am, the hot food was gone and there was no milk or yogurt. I had been told it ran until 9:30, but it actually ends at 9. The person running it wasn't attentive, and I didn't feel welcome. I was there for work, and even asking the front desk guy for another roll of toilet paper turned into an argument about there already being one in my room. I shouldn't have to explain why I need more. My windshield also ended up with a huge crack overnight somehow, which seemed suspicious. I'd rather drive from the Lindale Comfort Suites to Tyler than stay here again, but it depends what you're looking for.

The parking lot was a sheet of ice after the snowstorm, with no plowing or salt, and staff didn't seem concerned. Breakfast ran out before 8:30 every day, though it was advertised until 9, and the coffee was horrible. When we asked the rude afternoon desk guy for toilet paper after checking in, he said there was already a roll and told us to ask housekeeping the next day. The breakfast woman was rude too. We have stayed at four name-brand hotels in Tyler over the years and had bad experiences at all of them. It's worth driving to Lindale. I definitely don't recommend this hotel, or Tyler hotels in general.

My husband and I stay with Choice Hotels at least 25 nights a year, and this was the best property we've ever been to. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished, breakfast each morning was exceptional, and the whole stay was smooth from check-in on. I will be back!

The staff were friendly, but the room had a lot of problems. Hair was left in the sink, the tub was stained and scratched, and there was mold all around it. Grout was missing from many tiles, the bathroom light fixture netting was peeling, and the lampshade had stains too. The shower never warmed up, and the food was tasteless. When I left that morning, the elevator smelled awful and had some unidentifiable liquid on its floor. I hope it wasn't pee.
