Holiday Inn Tyler-Conference Center by IHG

The rooms were clean and nice, and our patio door on the fifth floor did open. The dinner was disgusting, though. Don't order the steak if you want seasoning, and the baked potatoes tasted refrigerated, like they'd been sitting around all week and microwaved. The dinner salad was the only good food, and our waitress was nice. We'll stay again, but eat somewhere else next time.

On my Oct.9-10th overnight, before our 6pm flight back to Dallas, I got to try the hotel's breakfast. There was a nice selection: oatmeal with toppings, fresh fruit, yogurt, parfaits with strawberries and blueberries, and two kinds of scrambled eggs, including one with ham, plus fried potatoes, sausage links, and bacon. My favorite was the warm, gooey cinnamon roll with dried oats and caramelized sauce, with chocolate syrup available to drizzle on top. I usually skip buffet cinnamon rolls because they're dry and hard, but this one was so good I went back for a bigger piece. My first layover in TYR was June 5th, 2025, and I really enjoyed the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, organized, and thoughtfully laid out, with a medium fridge, full-size microwave, and Keurig coffee machine. As crew members, we appreciate being able to store and heat food we've brought, since eating during multiple flights is difficult. My room had a balcony, too, which was a nice surprise, but it was locked. I couldn't open the door to enjoy the evening view and weather.

The staff were really friendly, but this was far from what we expected from H.I. We booked a poolside room online and only learned on arrival that there weren't any poolside rooms. They also didn't say the pool was seasonal and currently closed. We had to get new bedding because ours smelled like body odor and cologne.

John was super kind and friendly, and honestly gave the best customer service ever. The rooms were modern, spacious, fresh, and very clean, with a great price too. Five stars all around. I'd definitely recommend it.
