Hilton customer service quickly found us another hotel and couldn’t believe what had happened. We’d booked this room a couple of months earlier, checked in through the app that morning, and even selected a room. When we arrived that afternoon, the hotel was closed. The property had apparently delayed its opening and never let guests know.

My family always enjoys staying here when they visit, so I book rooms for them. I live just around the corner, and the location is handy for pretty much anywhere in Tyler. The staff are really friendly too.

We checked into Home 2 Suites in Tyler today, and the service was lousy. My husband was still outside when I asked the desk clerk for the lowest floor available because walking is difficult for him, even if he doesn’t like to say so. She checked our reservation and told me we were on the fourth floor and could use the elevator. She didn’t even check whether another room was available. We ended up at the far end of the fourth-floor hallway. She made no effort to accommodate his disability.
