Swan Lake Resort

We had our yearly karate meet at the resort, and it was fantastic. The service, food, and atmosphere were all great. It was a quiet, peaceful place to stay, highly recommended. Hopefully we’ll book the same place next year and see you again soon. Thanks for everything.

Dinner at the Chophouse was great, and our room was clean. The Valentine’s Special was a good deal, but the hot tubs were disappointing. My husband checked before booking and was told they were working. They had hot water, but there were no bubbles and the wall jets had no pressure, so I think calling them working was stretching the truth. They worked the way you’d expect a hot tub to six years ago, when we stayed there.

The golf course is pretty and fun to play, and breakfast was decent, with a small buffet. I’d recommend staying in the main resort. We were moved there after finding our cabin in awful shape during a two-day, one-night golf stay and play in August 2024. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time: dead bugs covered the floor, the carpet seemed unvacuumed, the sink was poorly cleaned and looked like it needed an upgrade, and the whole cabin smelled musty. The shower was disgusting. I tried scrubbing it with dish soap from the mini kitchen and paper towels, but the black and orange mold wouldn’t come off easily. The metal drain cover wasn’t screwed down, just resting on the pipe. I only tried cleaning it because we checked in very late after golf and dinner. I showed the pictures to the front desk so they’d know I wasn’t making a fuss over something minor. The woman there was very nice and apologized. She said guys normally book the cabins and was surprised by what I described and showed her. She gladly switched us to a recently updated room in the main resort, without giving us a hard time, even though they were very booked that night. They handled the situation kindly and went the extra mile, which is why I’m giving three stars instead of one. I don’t recommend the cabins.

The Chop House had a range of food to choose from at a fair price, and the staff were wonderful to work with. Our accommodations were nice, and the golf courses were challenging but well maintained. I’d definitely recommend Swan Lake for a golf outing.
