Quality Inn Umatilla - Hermiston

There’s a green lawn by the parking lots and pool, but it’s covered in dog poop. I hope they replace the blankets too, since there was dog hair on the bed. We’ve stayed here off and on for four years, and now we have to check our bank account carefully after paying. They’ve repeatedly overcharged us, either for extra days or for dirty or broken items that were already like that and smelled that way.

The coffee was fantastic, breakfast had a pretty good selection, and the pool was clean and relaxing. I also loved the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion dispensers, and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean too. I only gave service a three because I’d requested a handicap-accessible room with two beds, but got a regular room with a king bed. I ended up sharing it with my daughter. It wasn’t the end of the world, but I would have preferred the accessible room with two beds. I couldn’t shower because the room wasn’t handicap accessible.

The Wi-Fi was so slow it was almost unusable. Breakfast was disappointing too: powdered eggs with American cheese, moldy oranges, and stale Cheerios. For a Quality Inn, that was a letdown. If I were paying for a Motel 6, I’d expect less, but cheap truck-stop motel conditions should come with a cheap motel price. I’d save my money and skip this place. The outside looked like an old motel, and the inside was just as bad. The bathtub faucet and drain didn’t work, so with two little kids needing baths, I had to hold a cup over the drain and use the showerhead to fill the tub. We reported it, and they said nothing could be done until the manager came in at 7 the next morning. But there was no manager at 7, or at 8. My family often stays at Quality Inn and usually loves it, but this was the exception.

The king bed was very nice, but a bunch of immature people were making noise in the hallway outside our room. They were probably drunk and kept us from sleeping. People acting like that should be kicked out and barred from coming back!
