Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Uncasville

We got a really good rate, including a light breakfast, and the hotel is only about four minutes from Mohegan Sun. The room was clean and comfortable, just right for a short day. A great deal overall. I’d recommend it and stay again.

The shuttle was the biggest letdown. We were told several times it ran every 20 minutes, but after returning to the Winter garage as instructed, we waited well over 80 minutes. My wife called twice, and another guest called too. Each time we were told it would be 5 minutes, so we eventually took an Uber back for $12. The desk only gave excuses. The next morning, the attendant said she was hearing about it for the first time, though my sister in law had complained to her 45 minutes earlier. The lies and lack of empathy, with no effort to make things right, ruined the stay. The hotel is dated and worn, with lots of patched spots on the bathroom walls from old shower rods, but it serves its purpose. I’ll return to our previous hotel across the street and pay more for service I can count on.

I’d stayed at Microtel Uncasville plenty of times without a problem, but this weekend (10/3/25) was a complete joke. I paid extra for a suite because there was a big event at Mohegan Sun, then got keys to a regular room at check-in. When I questioned it, the front desk blamed a “third-party booking glitch.” While I was there, I saw several other guests told the same thing, despite using different apps. It looks to me like guests are being downgraded and the suites resold for more at the last minute. That doesn’t seem like a glitch, it feels like a scam. There was no hot water either. I paid over $300 and booked 9 months ahead, so that’s pathetic. This place used to be decent, but now it feels like they’re squeezing every dollar out of people and hoping nobody speaks up. I’ve been loyal for years, but I’m done. I’ll dispute the charges and warn everyone I know to stay away.

There was barely any room to move or put anything in this cramped room. The room was filthy, smelled nasty, and the beds had other people’s hair in them. Heavy mildew was growing behind the bathroom wallpaper, and there was no ventilation, just one window in the room. The TV was super old and outdated too. The price wasn’t worth getting such a dirty room. I wish I could get my money back!
