Crowne Plaza Silicon Valley N - Union City by IHG

Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly. The hotel looked really nice and clean outside and in the hallways, and my room was nice too. Unfortunately, the AC in my room didn't work. Luckily it wasn't a hot day. I was also surprised to wake up and find a roach near the coffee machine, since I was really looking forward to that cup of coffee.

I've had a great stay here, despite what the listed reviews say. The staff are extremely friendly, and the rooms are very clean and well kept. Breakfast and dinner are really good, and the staff are very knowledgeable. I always felt safe at the property, even though some reviews say otherwise. Like at home, make sure all the doors are shut and locked completely. There are fridges in the rooms and a microwave downstairs for guests to use. The gym was awesome, and they have laundry on site. I'll definitely stay again.

This was my worst IHG experience to date. My car was broken into and everything was stolen. Staff told me this happens all the time here. The front desk didn't respond, and the usual IHG text communication with management wasn't working. I was also told my regular IHG food and beverage vouchers would work, but they didn't, and the hotel refused to accept them manually even though it could have. Zero redeeming qualities. Zero stars.

On my last stay, I nearly swallowed a metal fragment in a bakery item. See pic. It could have seriously injured someone, and I was lucky to take small bites. Even after I found it, they left the remaining bakery items out, and management refused to take responsibility. Staff didn't know what to do and stayed silent. I flagged the issue to IHG, but management has stayed silent with them too. If that's how they treat someone who has stayed multiple times and is a Platinum member, I wonder how they treat others. I'd stayed at the property many times before. The rooms are dated and often have ants, but they used to be a good deal for the price. It's not a good Crowne Plaza. At $75-85 it may be fine, but it's not worth more than that for the area.
