La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta-Union City

On our way to the room, I heard a racket and looked up to see the same drug addict breaking in through a side door. The desk clerk put her out and secured the door after she'd already come into the lobby with a wild story, trying to get a key for a room she didn't occupy. The clerk had turned her away. The incident shook us. Then we opened our room to a foul smell. It hadn't been renovated, and half the room was empty, with a filthy carpet and a king bed with two limp pillows. We complained at the desk, got an apology, and were moved to a room that looked better. But when I sat on the sofa, I sank halfway in. The bed creaked, and its mattress was worn and sagging. By then I was done, but it was almost 11 pm, too late to find another hotel. Don't book here. The website photos don't show what it's actually like, and there are night walkers in the area around the hotel.

The staff were nice, but the whole hotel was filthy and smelled of cigarettes and pot. The carpets were dirty, the bathroom floor was sticky, and the bed was so-so. I needed somewhere that would take dogs and arrived around 1 am, so I had no time to find another place. Please gut renovate the whole building or tear it down and start over.

I was in Union City for work and checked into the Laquinta in Union City Atlanta. The receptionist was friendly, but the room door looked scraped up, like it might have been kicked in. Later, a roach dropped off the shower curtain. I eventually got it into the tub drain, took a photo and video, and reported it to the front desk.

I’d never stayed at a LaQuinta before this location, and I’ve booked here three times now, in rooms on three different floors. Each time, the room was clean, the toiletries were stocked, and the appliances, outlets, and air conditioner all worked. I haven’t seen, heard about, or experienced any insects or infestation. It’s peaceful here, and the staff have been caring without being rude or rushing me out. I plan to keep booking here.
