Unity Hotel and Conference Ctr, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I travel for work, and the cleanliness here really stood out to me. The care from every staff member I met was just as noticeable. We stayed four days, and the property was a perfect fit. I’d give it more stars if I could.

We’ll come back. Our room was clean, breakfast was included and quite nice, and the property itself is pretty. We run a lodging business, so we pay attention to cleanliness, amenities, and service. Unity Hotel met all the standards we look for. They deserve a shout-out for running such a good place. It’s a Choice Hotel, and this particular one has won the best hotel award among Choice Hotels for six years in a row. They even have a pancake printer. We had a good experience.

The pillows were much too soft for me, and there were small but noticeable stains on the lobby sofas and chairs. Those are personal preferences, I guess, which is why I wouldn’t give it a 5. The setting was tranquil, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast selection was nice. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate guests. I’d rate it 4.6 out of 5.

There are safe walking and exercise trails through the woods beside a rushing creek, with smaller streams, points of interest, and fitness stations along the way. The mention of deity is subtle enough that it wasn’t offensive to me as a nondenominational person. It’s a peaceful spiritual place to rest that anyone can enjoy. The area’s nature made the “Spirituality & Health” magazine story about The Healing Power of Awe resonate with me. The room was very clean, comfortable, and modern. There’s an especially powerful microwave in the dining area. I’m glad they don’t put the usual weak hotel microwaves in the rooms, since those cheapen the experience and make your sleeping area smell. Service was fine, though the front desk person was in training. The place is LEED certified and has a recycling center. No pets.
