Super 8 Upper Lake

There’s plenty of parking and on-site laundry, and the owners are amazing. They make sure you’re taken care of. It’s a quality, quaint little motel with nice rooms. There’s no breakfast, which is fine since there’s a nice breakfast place across the street. The pool was closed while I was there because the weather was cold.

Upper al Lake In And Suites is the hotel’s current name. The people there were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed staying in the pleasant room. Downtown Upper Lake is a short walk away, with several nice restaurants. I also had a nice breakfast across the street at Judy's Junction, with good food and friendly service.

The gentleman at the counter was respectful and helpful, but getting checked into our second room took a very long time because staff weren’t around. The place was clean, though the doors had some cosmetic damage. It’s conveniently located right on hwy 20, but it isn’t beautiful and there’s no breakfast or warm welcome feeling. Good for a quick night’s sleep while on the road, if you can get counter service. That might be about it.

We barely spent ten minutes here before deciding to leave and ask for a refund. The man who checked us in was unfriendly and unprofessional. Our room smelled like smoke, the bed wasn’t made, the carpet was muddy, and fast food wrappers were scattered around. When we told him about the condition, he didn’t apologize, just asked if we wanted another room. We wanted a refund instead. He gave it to us and said nothing else. I’d recommend avoiding this place.
