Fairfield Inn & Suites Des Moines Urbandale

The check-in staff were friendly. We got upgraded to a two-bed suite with a sofa, and there was loads of room. The bathroom was huge, and the separate living area had its own TV.

We booked a room early that morning, then arrived at 5:48 p.m. and were told the hotel had overbooked. They said they'd emailed us earlier, but that was at 5:29, just 20 minutes before we got there. They offered to book us into another hotel with one queen bed for four guests. No manager was available to speak with us. They said they'd tried calling one without an answer and told me I could speak to a manager at 7 the next morning. Other family members had booked at the same time. We found another hotel, thankfully, then came back the next morning to talk to the manager. She was sassy and had no solution, just kept saying she'd need to talk to her boss and call me later about what they could do. Poor customer service and the worst experience.

The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were top notch. Another great stay.
