Hampton Inn Utica

The hotel and its amenities were really nice, with a good breakfast and a great location. I hate leaving this review because the staff seemed overwhelmed by the hockey teams staying there. Parents were drinking and sitting on both sides of the hall, about eight adults, making it hard for us to reach our room. Several kids came into the pool without parents, so I had to reprimand them. The pool rules say children need an adult, and there's a noise curfew, but I'd like hotels to require parents to stay with their kids. Ask whether teams are staying if you need quiet and an early night. It was a nice stay otherwise, and I wish the team parents would remember other guests are there too.

There was plenty of parking, though the lot is laid out strangely. The rooms were decent, but the walls are paper thin. The guy next door talked on speakerphone in his room and the hallway until 1am. Water pressure was like a power washer. It's okay.

The hotel was quiet, and my room was very clean. Everyone I met on staff was friendly. It sits a little out of the way, but there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. This was my second stay, and it'll be my regular choice when I'm in the area.

The front desk staff were welcoming, available, and really helpful. Breakfast was amazing, the lobby was clean, and the rooms I'd booked were comfortable and clean. I'll definitely stay here again.
