What a total ripoff. For $700 a night, there were space heaters in every room, no hot water upstairs, and a shower that barely dribbled. The thermostat makes you wonder where that money is going. The view was of the Hospital, too. The manager was a nice guy, but whoever owns this disgrace of a hotel has no respect for other people’s money. This place is a pile of crap and should be taken away from the owner immediately. It absolutely sucks.

Our queen room had two queen beds and was warm, cozy, and comfortable, with portable fans in the cupboard if we needed more air circulation. We stayed for one night just before ski season, when both the hotel and village were quiet and peaceful. Getting around was easy: parking was free and plentiful, Vail is compact and walkable, and the all-day village bus stops near the Vail Public Library. The hotel is also close to the hospital and library. Downstairs there’s reception, a Nepalese/Indian restaurant, Altitude Bar & Grill, and a pool table. In the basement we found a gym, a small heated indoor pool, and a large outdoor pool that was closed during our visit. It was a very pleasant stay, comfortable, convenient, and quiet.

We keep coming back to Evergreen Lodge because it’s become our budget-friendly choice for Vail weekends. The rooms are dated and can smell a little musty, though they steam-clean the carpets. It’s dog friendly, and parking is easy, included in the room fee, and they’ve always accommodated our requests on arrival and departure days when we were skiing. Walking to Eagle Bahn isn’t much farther than parking at Lionhead garage. Annapurna Restaurant is a hidden gem with quite good food. We really enjoy staying here and don’t need glitz and glamour every Vail weekend.

Good value and convenient. The front desk and maintenance staff are very helpful. Gabriel helped me with hot water and a few other things several times, and was always kind and ready to help. I’ll definitely be back.

The hotel is beautiful, and the front desk host working very late on nov26th was great to me and my family. I’ll keep staying here on my Vail trips and would recommend it.
