Manor Vail Lodge

We already love Vail, but our stay here made the trip so much better. Jasmine and Sarah gave us a lovely welcome at the desk, and the AMEX upgrade deal got us a fantastic suite in the 180s. We arrived on Thanksgiving, so having such a comfortable place mattered when little was likely to be open in town. The suite had two bathrooms, a fireplace, a Murphy bed, a very comfortable main bed, a large patio, and a reclining sofa we liked so much we might shop for one at home. Jacob came right away to get the fireplace going when we had trouble with it, even on the holiday. Since we were done with Thanksgiving food for the day, Amanda and Ben at Fitz's lounge helped us get mac and cheese from the menu shown. We liked the pool we used, which had two hot tubs at different temperatures and had apparently been redone in the past year. There are two heated pools, and the other has a waterfall, but we didn't make it over there because ours was more convenient. The steam room wasn't working during our visit, though a sauna and a spacious gym were also available, and we didn't use the gym. The unusual ceiling fans in our rooms looked cool. Underground parking meant I could get things from the car without asking a valet. Breakfast was included, was high quality, and had an omelet station. The lobby had a great Christmas tree and a side room with a piano that I was allowed to play at night. Vail Village and everything we wanted to do were a short walk away. I loved this place and highly recommend it. See you next time.

The location made it easy to get to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, ski, and explore Vail Village, and the bus meant we didn't need a car. The whole team made our anniversary trip memorable, and we’re grateful to everyone. Doug from maintenance was great to talk with and made us feel at home while promptly fixing all our light switches. He also let the team know it was our anniversary, which led to a sweet surprise from Sarah. Lori greeted us warmly when we arrived, and Sarah went out of her way to make the occasion feel special. At the Fritz, Ben was friendly, attentive, and fun to talk with. Breakfast was another highlight: Billy served us wonderfully and made an incredible meal to order. Highly recommend staying here.

I got a gorgeous room upgrade, and everyone on staff worked hard to make me comfortable. The front desk receptionist was an absolute superhero. I had a wedding reception in Vail and couldn't get myself into the corset dress I'd brought. I called to ask if someone might come help lace it, and she was at my door within two minutes to tie my gown. She was so kind, and without her I'd have looked a mess in my best friend's wedding photos. This was easily the best hotel I've stayed at in Vail. From now on, I'll only stay at the Manor Vail Lodge.

This was one of my worst hotel stays. At check-in, the manager was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She tried to push an “upgrade” that hadn't been explained beforehand, didn't clearly explain it, and took my credit card without clear consent or discussion. The first room was extremely dirty, with visible stains on the floor, couch, and bed. When we raised it, she spoke to us in a demeaning, condescending way and kept focusing on the supposed upgrade instead of the cleanliness problem. We asked for the basic room we'd booked, but were told it wasn't available, which made no sense. We only got moved to a cleaner room after complaining repeatedly. Basic professionalism and respect could have made this easy to resolve. Given the poor cleanliness and the manager's behavior, I strongly advise against staying here.
