Baymont by Wyndham Valdosta at Valdosta Mall

The website photos don’t show what the rooms actually look like. My room had dust and hair everywhere, with bugs crawling around. I asked for a refund, and staff tried moving me to another room, but that one was nasty too. I’ve never seen a hotel this disgusting. Do not stay here.

Someone in the parking lot seemed to be casing cars, which made my wife very uncomfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, though, and our room was adequate. You can see signs of flood damage where the repairs show through the paint.

The room smelled of cigarette smoke, there was a roach, and the floor had stains. The bathroom was nasty, with hair left behind like someone had shaved there. Sheets and pillows were stained too. They wouldn’t offer a refund, and the whole response felt unprofessional. They’re still doing work on the place, and I think it should be closed until that’s finished. It felt more like a motel than a hotel. Don’t come expecting anything luxurious. Staying there felt like being in a trap house. 0/10, don’t recommend.

The bed was clean and comfortable, and the shower was clean too. The guy at the front desk was incredibly friendly. But the room had a purifier or humidifier running, and the toilet kept running full blast unless we shut it off with the wall valve. There were portable dehumidifiers in the hallways, and on our walk to Cracker Barrel I noticed old roof damage and what looked like a haphazard repair. That may explain the machines. This hotel needs a lot more than an ounce of prevention.
