Fairfield Inn & Suites Valdosta

The room itself didn't smell, and it looked mostly clean, though it was dated. I'm grateful the person who cleaned it took pride in the job. But the first floor and lobby smelled terrible, like animals, filth, and moisture problems. When I asked about it, the front desk woman said her allergies were bothering her. That smell has me so disappointed, and there's no way we'll eat breakfast here tomorrow. We have a sofa in our room, so I asked for a blanket to relax with. The front desk called back to say they were out and asked if I'd take a duvet cover instead. No thanks. Please get this hotel up to a decent standard.

The room was dated, but it did the job for one night and I slept quietly. The front desk woman was the best part, efficient and polite. The area isn't the best or the worst, and the hotel is just off the freeway.

I've stayed here a couple of times on trips to Florida. The breakfast is decent, and overall it's an okay place. On my last visit in Mar 2026, the room looked a bit dated and smelled somewhat musty. I'd still consider staying again, though I may look at other Marriott's in the area.

I've been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over ten years, and we're a military family traveling from one place to another. We stopped at Marriott hoping to relax for a while, since my status can get me a late checkout. This was one of the worst hotels I've experienced for cleanliness, and the property didn't meet Marriott standards. We checked in around 9 or 10 PM and went to bed without looking closely at the room. When I got up around 5 AM to shower, the bathroom was disgusting. The tub and sink area were dirty, as were the microwave and fridge. The floor hadn't been vacuumed properly, there was dust in many places, and the ceiling was cracked. The ice machine looked moldy, and the hallway and elevator floors had debris all over them. I've never seen so much dirt on hotel floors. I called the front desk to say I was checking out immediately and wanted to speak to a manager. None was there, and the woman said the manager would call after 7 AM. When I went downstairs to check out, the young woman at the desk was asleep. She printed a copy of my concerns and said she'd noted them. Nobody called me back that day. I called again to speak with the manager, Pottra Sinclair, and had to argue back and forth about the room's cleanliness. She said she'd gone to the room and seen no problems. I took several photos of the dirty room and will contact corporate. If that's how the manager handles customer concerns, it's no surprise the hotel isn't up to par. I wouldn't recommend it because of the poor cleanliness and lack of accountability. This is the first time I've had to go tit for tat with a manager over facts. I'll call corporate today and send the photos and videos. I didn't think the property was worth the money, and I haven't been offered a refund, points, or anything. Don't stay here.
