Quality Inn At the Mall - Valdosta

The room itself was okay and the AC worked well, but the bathroom was disgusting. It needs a deep clean, and the tile has mold and should be replaced. We waited another 30 minutes after check-in time for housekeeping, yet shampoo was still on the shower wall. The coffee maker was missing its filter holder, and the blankets were very thin. There was no ceiling light, and the only door lock was a swing latch. It smelled like old smoke. Things were quiet until about 9, then there was lots of running, shouting, and music. TV service was good, and the location is close to a lot. Next time I'll spend another $40 for the Country Inn.

Wouldn't recommend this room. Spoiled food in the mini fridge made the whole place stink, and the AC smelled musty too. The sink wouldn't drain, the light above it didn't work, and there were tiles shoved into the only trash can under the cabinet. They had coffee but no cups or coffee pot. The beds were doubles made up with Queen sheets that didn't fit; one set had cigarette burn holes. The door was crooked, and the second bed's headboard was missing from the bed and left in the closet.

We got to the hotel around 10:30 pm after driving from Gainesville following a game. We'd booked 10 days ahead and had checked into four other hotels on our road trip without trouble, so we expected this to go smoothly. Instead, the lobby was dark, the doors were locked, and nobody answered the outside bell or repeated calls to the office. After about 20 minutes, a worker finally showed up and let us in, clearly irritated with us. The TV was already on in our room, so it seemed like the room had either been cleaned carelessly or occupied right before we arrived. There were sticks and grass all over the carpet, stained bedspreads, dead bugs everywhere, and a disgusting bathroom. I know it's a 2 Star hotel, but cleanliness and basic hospitality should still be expected.

I left at 7:00 in the morning because I couldn't sleep there, and I'm allergic to everything in that room. I've stayed at Quality Inns from Wednesday of last week, up to Jersey and back down to Georgia, and this one in Florida was by far the worst. We paid at 11:00 and knew check-in wasn't until 3:30 or 4:00. With nowhere outside to sit, we came at 3:15, but weren't checked in until 4:15. The room was supposed to be handicap accessible, but it wasn't. The toilet was too short, and there were no plugs for the breathing machines we needed overnight. There were roaches in the refrigerator and toilet, and more crawling over the counter where waffles were made. The TV didn't work, and the creamer at the Continental breakfast was bad. I understand the place is being remodeled, but a room booked with a king size bed should have a king size bed. We're both 6 ft, and had to share a queen; the sheets and comforters kept coming off. I'm completely unsatisfied. This gives the Quality Inn name a bad report, and someone needs to do something about it.
