The scenery was lovely, and we enjoyed seeing the bunnies. It’s around a 40-minute drive to the actual Grand Canyon, and this seems like a good setup for families or groups. The tents were really comfortable, and many have showers and flushing toilets. In ours, the toilet was behind a sliding door that didn’t reach the ceiling, so privacy was limited. The staff were wonderful, especially Justin and Kendra. Food was fine, though I wish it had been better since there aren’t other options within about a 30-minute drive. Still, it was a fun place to stay.

Everyone was so kind and personal, and you could tell they wanted guests to have a great time. The meals were incredible, each one felt special. I was there on a class trip, and the welcome at Under Canvas Grand Canyon made it one of the best experiences of my life. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, and checked on me when I wasn’t feeling well, which meant a lot. Miles was so sweet and made my welcome awesome, he’s a 10-10!!! The atmosphere and hospitality made the whole stay unforgettable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, unusual, memorable place near the Grand Canyon.

The kids’ tent was separate from the main tent with no connection between them, which wasn’t convenient in bad weather or for late-night trips back and forth. We’d also hoped for more family activities or something organized around the dark sky, but there wasn’t much happening during the day, roughly 8:30am-6pm, and no stargazing program. That felt like a missed opportunity for this location. The setting is beautiful, and staff were friendly and helpful when we spoke with them. Still, the service felt more self-serve than a resort. We carried extra blankets and a cooler to our tent, and the extra fire starter we requested never arrived. Coffee and hot water were unavailable several times, once from late morning through the afternoon. We were told it depended on one staff member, which didn’t seem like a great setup. It would also have helped to know beforehand that the shower and sink use pull/push handles rather than on-demand controls. We made good family memories and had a nice time together, but the price and marketing set resort expectations that the experience didn’t meet. For the premium cost and advertised amenities, we expected more thoughtful touches and a more polished experience. Delivering on those amenities is basic, and our stay fell well short.

The staff were fantastic, and the food was pretty good, better than I expected even if it wasn’t gourmet. We stayed in a Stargazer tent with its own toilet and shower. The tents were comfortable and really impressed me. The wood stove was nice, though we had to get up a few times overnight to keep it burning. I really loved Under Canvas at the Grand Canyon.

The tent was clean, roomy, and beautiful, with a super comfortable bed. Staff were incredibly friendly, and the little bar and restaurant in the main tent had nice food at fair prices. At night there were bonfires and s’mores, which were perfect for watching the stars in the desert. It’s a quiet, isolated spot about 30 minutes from the park entrance, ideal for stargazing. A romantic, fun stay, and I really loved it. Highly recommended.
