Motel 7

The staff are super, super nice, and the rooms are really clean and cared for. Nothing was broken. This place is worth a stay. There are cool vending machines, and the rosé garden is absolutely amazing!

You get what you pay for, honestly. We checked in late and found a clump of hair on the shower wall, so I asked them to clean it in the morning. When we came back, the soaps had been replaced, so housekeeping had been in, but the hair was still there. The front desk was respectful, but that was about it. I also booked a nonsmoking room and walked into an overwhelming cigarette smell.

The rooms were clean and nice, the bed was comfortable, and there was a large microwave, fridge, and big wall TV. Rates are affordable and reasonable. The manager takes real pride in the property and keeps the grounds tidy. Housekeeping was helpful and nice, and a night security person was on site, which helped me feel safe. There was no yelling, fighting, or police presence during my stay, and it stayed quiet and peaceful. The location isn't ideal, but it worked fine. For a budget motel, the place has a boutique feel. I've had bad stays on business trips at run-down places where management couldn't control unruly guests, so I was pleasantly surprised here and didn't see any behavior issues. The serene rose garden around the property and courtyard was lovely for calming down, relaxing, and meditating. 🌹⛲️✌😀👍

The people at the counter were friendly, and all the employees were pleasant and helpful. The place looks clean from a distance, and it is maintained, but the closer you look, the more obvious the DIY fixes become. My friends and I had two rooms, and both toilets were loose. The one in my room felt like it might tip over. My room door had clearly been kicked in before, and the repair left the deadbolt unable to latch. I'm handy, so I made it work, but that should have been caught in a routine safety check. The bed was comfortable, and I couldn't hear the freeway. It met my needs at the time, but I'd probably not stay again. I wouldn't tell people to avoid it outright, but they should know what they're getting.
