Super 8 By Wyndham Valley City

The room was clean and comfortable, but there weren’t enough shower supplies for two people. In the morning nobody was at the front desk, and no one answered when I called. Breakfast was truly subpar: one thawed Eggo waffle, two mini donuts, some bread, and a few English muffins. Once again, there was nobody available at the desk. This is the Super 8 in Valley City North Dakota, and I can’t recommend it.

We booked because of whydem rewards, but never again. The room was nothing special, and breakfast was supposed to be included. All they had was dry cereal, with no milk, coffee, fruit, bowls, or silverware. Getting help was frustrating too. Nobody greeted us at the front desk, so after waiting about 10 minutes I went toward the rooms and called out, “anyone here?” before someone finally appeared. In the morning I called the desk three times to ask for a later checkout, since the rules said we’d be charged for an extra day without permission. Finally, at a minute before 11:00, I went down and found someone sitting there.

The outside of the hotel could use an update, but the inside is excellent. The bathroom was huge, the beds were clean and comfortable, and the large flat screen televisions and standard amenities were all there. I’m impressed, plan to return, and would recommend it to others.

The room key stopped letting me back in around 6:30 am. There was nobody at the desk, and after calling the front desk and trying the help phone for four hours, I finally got another key. When I asked the owner lady whether they answer the help phone, she pointed to the unattended desk phone and didn’t seem to care at all. I stay at Super 8 hotels at least twice a week and I’m a diamond Wyndham member. This is by far the worst Super 8 I’ve stayed at in North America. Pipes were leaking too, with buckets catching water in the hallway. Don’t stay here. It’s pathetic, and I will NEVER BE BACK!!!
