The man at the front desk was polite, and I can give them credit for having a TV and a lock on the door. The price was low, which was about the only other positive. The room was in terrible shape. There were crumbs and crust in the mini fridge and microwave, splatter crusted on the wall, stained sheets, and a floor that looked like it hadn't been swept or mopped in ages. I wouldn't walk around without shoes. Spiderwebs filled the corners, and the smoke alarms had been removed. There was even toilet paper in the middle of the floor. The bathtub was disgusting, with black stains all over the bottom. The toilet seat had brown crust that came off when I scrubbed it with a washcloth, and there were urine drips down the sides of the toilet. The only outlet I could find was by the bathroom sink. A train often passes behind the building and makes a lot of noise.

We stayed just under five months for my husband's job, and it was the only long-term-friendly motel in town with a reasonable weekly rate. They welcomed our pup without charging extra, and the new manager Justin and head housekeeper June were friendly and quick to address our needs. Our room had plenty of space for all our belongings during the long stay. The rooms could use some care, but for what you pay, it was a good bargain compared with other places nearby.

For $35, I'd give it five stars. The place was exactly as described. Neighbors from New Mexico let their dog poop in the parking lot, and I stepped in it and tracked it into the room. I did my best to clean it up. Apologies.

It's cheap, so I know you get what you pay for, but there were dead roaches on the floor when I arrived. I waited 20 minutes in the lobby before anyone helped me. After 1 a.m., a group was drinking, playing loud music, and keeping the whole place awake.

It was a convenient stop for the price, and I got some rest after driving 14 hours from NV to TX, with 468 miles still to go. The shower had good hot water, and there was a microwave for warming food.
