A Peace of Heaven Cabins

We spotted more than 50 deer while driving around, and both Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park had beautiful, easy hikes. The trip was so peaceful and relaxing, especially stargazing at night.

We couldn't stay because all three cabins were booked, though they looked nice from outside. They're close together, so there may not be much privacy. We checked out the water, which was very low with a slight film over it, and didn't seem appealing for swimming. It would be a nice spot to sit and relax, though. The hammocks looked inviting, and there seemed to be electricity for RVs or camping. Overall, it seems like a good place to unwind and get away from the noise.

The cabin made for a great little escape, and we were lucky to get snow while we were there. It's a short drive to both Lost Maples State Park and Garner State Park, and check-in and checkout were easy. Inside, the cabin was clean and had a microwave, fridge, stove and oven, plus kitchenware. The AC and heater worked well, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

We took day passes to hike at Lost maples state park, less than a 10-minute drive away, and did a little geocaching nearby. Our campsite at A Piece of Heaven felt more beautiful and private than the state park's camping options. The property is scenic, quiet, and family friendly. The kids loved wandering around the campsites, and we all enjoyed exploring the creek. We stayed at an RV site while friends rented a cabin, and both worked out exceptionally well. The owners were exceptionally nice and helpful. If you want peaceful surroundings and lovely views, this place is hard to beat!
