Residence Inn by Marriott Ventura Beach

The people here were awesome throughout my three-week stay, from check-in onward. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. Having a large fridge, large microwave, and stovetop in the room, along with grills near the pool, came in handy. We were in town for work, and being able to cook saved us a lot of money and time. The stay was fine, and I appreciate the staff’s hard work. We’d consider coming back for work, though the building and operation seem new and may still have growing pains. The motion-sensor lights were my biggest complaint. The main room and bathroom lights would shut off after five minutes or come on when I didn’t need them. They were annoying when I was relaxing or in a video meeting, since I had to wave my arms to turn them back on. At night, they’d pop back on after I’d turned everything off. The bathroom lights were just as frustrating. They went out after five minutes in the shower, and if I got up in the night, I couldn’t keep them off. I could press the button after they came on, but they’d turn on again 30 seconds later if I was still there. Water also kept pooling on the bathroom floor outside the standard walk-in shower with two sliding glass doors. I had to lay down a bunch of towels to soak it up. It looked like the bottoms of the doors might not have been installed properly, letting water escape.

I was lucky enough to stay when this hotel had just opened, and I was pleased with the service, amenities, and comfortable rooms. Pierpont is a cute beach area with shops and restaurants that I could walk to. It’s a hidden gem, and I’ll stay again.

The staff were helpful and really pleasant, and both the beds and the room were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very nice. Wonderful!!

Amazing place to stay. The couch could be softer, but I’d stay again anyway.
