The rooms don’t feel clean enough, or cheap enough, to make the stay acceptable for the price. My two main problems were noise and customer service. The walls seemed so thin I could hear full conversations spoken quietly. Several times during the night, I heard what sounded like stomping on the ceiling or roof, which seemed odd in a one-floor building. The “nightly workers” also played loud music by the pool for hours. We called the office about the disturbance and were told they couldn’t do anything and wouldn’t ask the workers to turn it down. These rooms are meant for sleeping, and I couldn’t get a comfortable night’s rest. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I’d hate for someone else to spend their hard-earned money and end up anxious and restless.

Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. My guys stayed here Monday through Thursday, but finished work a day early and needed to check out. The woman asleep on the couch wouldn’t wake up, even when they tried twice. I called through the day to check them out, and YOGI was rude. He told me to call at 2 p.m. to speak to the manager, his son. When I did, the son yelled at me and said to call back at 6 p.m. I reminded him he’d told me 2, and he insisted he’d said 6. A helpful woman eventually answered and said she had checked them out and would email the folio. I gave her my email, but it never arrived. When I called the next day, the manager was even worse than YOGI. He said I’d have to pay for the room. I said I’d dispute the charge, and he threatened me. I told him I would pay, but he screamed profanity at me and blamed me because they couldn’t rent the room. I told him that if his employee had gotten off the couch, the room could have been rented, since my guys checked out early. He kept yelling and was very rude. He also said his family manages three hotels there, so I’d assume they’re all this way. They will charge you. Very unprofessional and unpleasant.

I couldn’t relax in the room and left at 5:30 in the morning to ask for my money back. I had another long travel day ahead and had hoped to nap, but the uneasy feeling that someone might come back for their belongings, along with how unclean things seemed, made it impossible. The bed looked clean, but the bathroom was filthy: no clean towels, a nasty shower, and barely any toilet paper. I’d reserved the room Wednesday and arrived around 10 p.m. Thursday after traveling all day. The first key didn’t work, so I got another and finally opened the door to find someone’s things everywhere and a dirty room with only the bed made. The office called the owner, who came to look. It looked like someone had been living there, though they assured me it was vacant and the previous tenant had checked out. He asked if I was okay staying, and I said yes because they were full, as was every hotel in town, and I had no other option. He noticed the food and belongings and asked if they could be left. I reluctantly agreed because I felt stuck. When I asked him to look at the bathroom, he turned and walked away. The owner’s son, I think, came out when I asked for a refund, but quickly got defensive and had an answer for everything. I gave up and left.

The man working on our check-in day, 11/23, was accommodating, but the interactions with staff after that were disappointing. There were eight of us across two rooms, and getting towels or toilet paper was a hassle. Breakfast on our first morning was put away almost an hour early, and during our four-night stay, housekeeping came just once. I wouldn’t recommend staying here longer than one night if you can help it.
