Howard Johnson by Wyndham Vero Beach / Downtown

Scott and the rest of the staff were great and happy to help. The hotel is being fixed up, and the work seems to be coming along nicely. There was a loud AC unit outside my room that sounded like a vacuum, but it was something I could put up with. It was a perfect place for one night. Thanks for a lovely evening!

We had a great week there, my son and I. The price and location suited me, even though I had read plenty of bad reviews before booking. Just keep expectations in check, this isn't a five-star hotel. My room was very clean, and I didn't see any bugs during the week. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the AC was quiet. I also didn't notice anyone shady around. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, with Baskin Robbins next door, Walgreens across the other side, and Walmart Neighborhood Market across the street. Some things could use improvement, like the carpet.

I stayed for two days, and nobody cleaned the nasty room. When I went to the office to speak with the manager, an older man around 70-75, he was very rude. He said I needed to let them know if I wanted the room cleaned, which I'd never heard before. We ended up arguing instead of getting the issue resolved. I'm African American, and there was hair all over the bathroom. I want a Howard Johnson representative to hear this complaint. I have pictures, and I want a refund for what I paid for that filthy room.

The customer service is awesome, and the place feels super safe and convenient for travelers, with everything you need nearby. It's only 10 minutes from the Actual Beach. I've always LOVED staying here. If I could, I'd give it 6 Stars.
