Vero Beach Inn & Suites

Check-in was amazingly easy, the rates were fair, and the desk staff were kind and respectful. Breakfast was made each morning with different options, though it was an average continental breakfast. We got the presidential suite. It wasn’t the biggest or best room, but it had a living room, a master bedroom, a kitchen area, and a dining area. The rooms could use some updating, but the other guests were quiet and kept to themselves. The staff were amazingly nice. I was so relaxed that I think I even fell apart under a gazebo at one point. My brother lives in Vero Beach, so unless he moves, this will probably be where we stay when we visit him.

We booked two nights, but checked out early. I was traveling with my wife and daughter, and our room was in a dark, far corner, opening onto the parking lot. When we arrived, there were men sitting on a pickup truck bed outside, drinking and smoking weed. My wife and daughter refused to stay and went to a nicer, safer property. Even when it was going to be just my wife there the second night, there was no way she was staying. I stayed the first night and asked for a refund for the second after checking out early, but was refused. The owners later said they were pleased there were no further issues for the rest of our stay. There were no further issues because I checked out 12 hours later, as Hotel.com suggested, and my wife and daughter never stayed. I’ve never seen a quality hotel allow illegal activity in plain sight on its property. The owners also said they immediately addressed my concern, gave us an upgraded experience that we used, and followed both the third party’s policy and their own. That’s nonsense. If the upgrade meant no drinking and weed outside our room, that’s no upgrade at all. Hotel.com disagreed with management and credited me half the rate.

Big thanks to Kristen and Michael. My family was there for four days last week for a baseball tournament, and we had breakfast every day. They were so welcoming and friendly that we looked forward to seeing them each morning. They made our trip even more special. Thank you from South Jersey!

The hotel is a little dated, but we still had a nice stay. Our room was clean, the staff were friendly, and parking was easy. We missed breakfast, though it looked good. The Wi-Fi barely worked, which was annoying. The biggest issue was how bright our room stayed at night because of the outside lighting. The lights are useful, but blackout curtains would help. I also wish there were a restaurant on site, since there isn’t much nearby.
