Hampton Inn & Suites Binghamton/Vestal

I slept fairly okay, surprisingly, though I woke up with a headache and a stiff back. The bed was hard and really uncomfortable, and the pillows were too soft. Along the shower and in the front-side hole inside the sink, the bathroom looked moldy. It was an okay stay.

I was disappointed with this stay, especially as a Hilton Honors member who stays at Hiton hotels around the country. There were hairs all over the bathroom and bathtub, and I was cold because the air unit kept blowing cold air even with the thermostat turned up. There were no extra blankets. The room seemed to have no closet at first, though I eventually found a small nook behind a curtain. At breakfast, some items had run out and others were slow to be refilled. The person at reception wasn't friendly and acted like I was bothering them. I usually stay at a different hotel in the area, but tried this one for its location. That part of town has plenty of hotels, so I have choices next time. Update: A representative contacted me, listened to my complaints, and took note. I may give this location another try when I'm back.

The suite I got was very nice, with hillside views and a private setting. The hotel sits back from the busy parkway, and it's conveniently close to the university, dining, and shopping. Whitetail deer are a common sight, so nature becomes part of the stay.

I'd recommend staying here. For the price, the overall quality is excellent, and management clearly focuses on keeping customers satisfied. Renovations are still underway, though, so the hotel hasn't quite returned to true three-star quality yet.
