Comfort Suites Vicksburg

The area around it isn't very lively, but it felt safe and was clean. The Saturday night rate of $140 initially surprised me for a place away from downtown and the water, but the downtown hotels seem increasingly old and neglected, and I'd pick this one over them. This B&B was a little gem. The room felt fresh and clean as soon as I walked in, and it didn't seem too outdated. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and every worker I met was nice. The continental breakfast was surprisingly good, especially the biscuits and gravy.

BEWARE. I have a registered service animal, not an ESA, and he goes everywhere with me. While I was making my waffle, an employee told me he couldn't be there, even though he was wearing his vest with his ID hanging on it. I said that under ADA law he was allowed, and could even fly with me. She kept saying it was company policy. I told her that was discrimination and against the law, then got the manager involved. She backed up the employee, and I wasn't allowed to finish making breakfast. Afterwards, several guests apologized for how I was treated and were shocked that ADA law hadn't been followed. I later spoke with the manager privately about crushed crackers left in the elevator for three shifts, a broken TV remote, and an oily handprint on our headboard that I found after my wife was asleep. She didn't apologize or respond otherwise. Her body language only changed when I asked if they were a franchise or corporate property. I called corporate. They were appalled by how I'd been treated and said that wasn't their policy. They apologized and said they'd follow up with the Comfort Suites in Vicksburg. If you have a service animal, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

This is a nice place, but the luggage carts barely hold anything, and on two separate stays the key cards were unreliable and had to be rekeyed several times. I'd recommend this motel, though I think you can find better elsewhere.

The staff were nice, but the room was gross and not very clean. There were crumbs and black stuff on the sofa pullout sheets, and the mattresses had no covers. Mold covered the shower, with slimy mold on its floor. It's an older hotel with some updates, but we slept in our clothes. We would've moved elsewhere, but the other hotels had no rooms available.
