Halpino

Harley and the staff are wonderful. Harley let us extend our stay several times without hesitation. I’d recommend the place for work, a vacation, or a short stay. My only suggestion is to add a mini fridge to each room, or at least put one in a shared area.

Breakfast at the Duff Green Mansion was a real treat, with superb coffee, great food and service, and no paper plates. We also got a guided tour of the mansion’s main floor, and everything there was so nice. At Halpino, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with great toiletries. There was a strange smell when we came in, and the house is in a very old part of town, but neither kept us from sleeping well. We love staying at Bed & Breakfasts when we can, and this last-minute one-night visit was a delight. We’ll come back if we’re in Vicksburg again.

The staff are friendly and really go out of their way to help, and breakfast is included. It’s close to town and Vicksburg National Military Park, with the Mississippi River and four Casinos nearby too. A very clean, pleasant place to stay in Vicksburg. Don’t miss the beautiful Vicksburg Bed and Breakfast.

Those newly furnished beds were soft and great to sleep in, and the antiques gave the room that familiar feeling of being at your grandparents’ house. It’s a nice mix of old memories and real comfort. TVs and an ice machine add some modern touches, and breakfast at the main bed in breakfast was amazing. I’m planning to stay here whenever I pass through Vicksburg, MS. The host went way out of their way to find a place for three military soldiers at a bed and breakfast we’ll remember for years. Halpino is a dream for historians and writers, with fun themed rooms. I’d pick Tennessee Williams Room. If you want something different and have a fun bone in your body, come here. If you’re boring, stick with a hotel or motel!
