Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Vicksburg

The beds were comfortable, the hotel is updated and right off the interstate, and it’s not too far from shopping. The price was better than most in Vicksburg. But parking was basically nonexistent, with huge work trucks everywhere, and there were screws and nails scattered around that I kept picking up and throwing away. We were in room 114 with a generator right outside. It came on at 6:30am each morning and was so loud we considered leaving for another hotel. The owner said it wouldn’t be there Saturday, but it was back at 6:30am the next day. My husband told the owner she had lied; she said she couldn’t control construction, though she could have moved us to another room. I had cold showers both nights because there was no hot water. I skipped breakfast because the tiny room looked like it might fit three people. We weren’t offered an apology or anything. I wouldn’t stay again: I don’t think guests should be put in rooms by the generator during so much construction, and your car is at risk and you won’t get sleep.

Mac Patel went out of his way to make us comfortable and showed us the utmost hospitality. My company came from Tennessee to Louisiana and Mississippi to work on the new Meta site, and we stayed at the Days Inn in Vicksburg Mississippi. We had 10 trucks, more than we were supposed to park there, but he worked with us and is still working with us. If you come to Vicksburg, Mississippi, come by and see Mac Patel at Days Inn by Wyndham.

On a holiday weekend, I was traveling across our nation with no reservation and couldn’t find a room at the Inn or anywhere else. I’m grateful to the wonderful woman at the desk, who called around and found a place for me. Excellent customer service.

The Mississippi River and bridges made for an absolutely beautiful view, and the Mississippi Welcome Center is only a short walk away. Parking was plentiful, and the price was very reasonable for what you get. I stayed one night and was comfortable overall. The room felt very humid at check-in, so I adjusted the AC and waited for it to become comfortable. Also, the gap around the entrance door was bigger than I’d prefer. It didn’t affect safety, but made the room feel a little less private.
