The beach access was great, and the beach itself was really good. There’s a shower outside to keep sand from getting into the apartment, plenty of parking, and entry is secured with a card. The location is fairly central. We rented through Airbnb for the weekend, and the apartment was very clean and had what we needed. We were on the third floor. The building is clearly old, and the floor seemed to shift as we went between the apartment and the hallway to reach the elevator or stairs. The elevator felt unsafe: its ceiling cables were visible, the doors moved slowly and didn’t close properly, and the floor was falling apart. You could feel movements that don’t seem normal in a properly working elevator. The pool could use better upkeep and a more thorough cleaning. It looks like the building is being remodeled, with boards in place of railings. I was nervous walking past them with my small child.

We arrived from DFW and the area felt rough, with homeless people and drug users around. Construction was everywhere. In building three there was no elevator, and the stairwells were filthy. At night we noticed a rat smell and roaches. The pool was okay, but the restroom was awful. The property is old and poorly maintained, with pavement needing replacement, peeling walls, bad paint, and open holes in the ceilings. Some entries were broken too, so anyone could walk in from the beach. The place was disgusting. I wish I’d read the reviews before booking on air bnb.

The condo, the host, the beach and the view all deserved five stars. The office was good too, and everyone was friendly. It was humid and very breezy. We tried to barbecue, but getting the grill started took a lot of effort. Construction was the main problem, with workers not yielding to paying guests. The elevators were running during our stay, but they were slow and rattly.

The buildings are falling apart, with cracked, broken, shifting floors and scaffolding people have to walk across. Elevators barely work, there’s almost no wheelchair access, and they haven’t had a fire system for months. Instead, guys walk around, often wearing headphones or talking on the phone, so they aren’t even listening. This place is an OSHA nightmare. Everything about it was horrible. Do not stay or live here.
