Hampton Inn Victoria

The room smelled moldy, and the sheets and pillows felt damp, so I had an awful night's sleep. This is an older hotel and nowhere near Hilton's standard. The AC ran constantly and wouldn't shut off, whatever temperature I set. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I won't return after this one-night stay. The room was visibly dirty when I arrived, with stains on the carpet and sofa bed. I let that go at first since I was only there one night and planned to work at the desk before going to bed. Then I found lots of stains on the bedding, right through to the mattress protector when I pulled back the sheets. I called the front desk and was told to come downstairs for clean sheets and make the bed myself. It was nearly 11 PM, so I politely declined. I ended up sleeping on towels, and even the spare blanket in the closet was stained. I left early the next morning. The cleanliness and customer service were unacceptable, and I'm extremely frustrated and disgusted by the experience.

We were in town for a swim competition when the fire alarm went off at midnight, and the whole building was woken up. We rushed downstairs, where the woman at the front desk kept pressing buttons on the panel. It took half an hour and the fire department's arrival before the alarm stopped. Because we were kept awake so long by the disturbance and the staff member's apparent lack of training, I asked to speak with the manager about a reduced price. I still haven't heard back about it, four days later.

We should've booked here first. We only came after turning down a room at another hotel in town, and had a great experience. The staff worked hard, the room was good, and breakfast was good too. Thanks for a great stay!
