Best Western Plus Orange County

The best part of our Texas trip was getting to have our two granddaughters visit us in the room, and even stay overnight with us. My husband and I were here for three nights over the weekend, and the owner and staff were lovely. They handled whatever we needed with a smile and never made us feel like a bother. The motel was very clean, especially the breakfast area, and the breakfast had a good range of choices, including eggs, sausage, and waffles. The beds were comfortable, and the shower got nice and hot with good pressure. We highly recommend it and will stay here again on our next visit to Vidor.

The shower water stayed cool, which made for a pretty bracing start to a winter morning, especially on these old bones. The person at check-in was polite, though either she or the computer system seemed inefficient. There were some problems in the room, as the photos show. And why was there a cup or lipstick ring on the towel?

The front desk woman was friendly and helpful, and the lobby looked nice. But both rooms we were assigned had mold in the bathroom, and the second one had a faint moldy smell too. This place needs a proper cleanup, plus a designated smoking area. You can hear your neighbor breathing through the walls.

There’s no ice machine, even though the hotel advertises an ice and vending machine. Given the reviews and the condition of the place, that wasn’t the only disappointment. The room was just okay, the sheets weren’t very comfortable, and the hallway smelled strange. I’m in the area regularly, but I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.
