Quality Inn & Suites New Hartford - Utica

The room itself was adequate, but the bathroom had disgusting rust stains that could easily have been cleaned. The gym is in poor shape: the machines don't work, the weight bench is falling apart, and there's not even a mat for floor exercises. Maintenance overall seems poor, and the place is a bit shabby. For $169, I'd go somewhere else.

Inside, the hotel looks really good, even though the outside doesn't look like much. Our room felt different from some other hotels I've stayed in, with nice wood laminate floors instead of carpet. The front desk clerk was kind and courteous. The bathroom was cramped and could use an update, especially since the tub looked like it had been there for years. It was a little tricky to find at first, though that's not the hotel's fault. My only complaint from the kids was that apparently I snored too much.

We've stayed here three times in recent weeks. For the price, it's definitely a win, and the staff have been very friendly and responsive. Just be prepared for small fixes in the room, like an outlet or light bulb that doesn't work. Even so, it's been a good place to stay.

The rooms and building look like they've been upgraded fairly recently, with fresh-looking paint and pretty new furnishings. It's a clean, well-kept hotel with decent rates, though nothing fancy. It's somewhat off the beaten path, but still not far from a main road. My only room complaint was the shower's water pressure, which may not necessarily be the hotel's fault. They should also keep closer track of snow and ice in the parking lot. An elderly person could fall, with tragic consequences.
