Super 8 Vincennes

The front desk guy was super nice, and the rooms were clean. The pool was decent too. We had a really good stay.

We booked for a weekend visit with friends so the kids could use the pool, but its sides were oily and scummy. The entrance doors didn’t lock, so you could open them without a key card. There were needles around the parking lot and building, and people were doing drugs beneath our second-floor room. Inside, the room smelled of nicotine and had burn holes in the carpet and bedding. The hallways smelled like mold, and someone was loudly banging on a vehicle in the lot. This felt more like a Motel 6 than a Wyndham Hotel, and I wish I could give it zero stars. It should be shut down by the local police and health department.

My ex-girlfriend and I went to check in with her two small Chihuahuas, registered as service animals. After I paid for the room, the front desk demanded a $100 cash deposit for them, even after I showed the registration certificates. I explained that the ADA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, doesn’t allow hotels to charge fees for a service animal, but he kept arguing that they could. I asked for a refund so we could go to another motel, then asked for the manager’s number to explain the law myself. He wouldn’t give it to me and said the manager would call if I left my number. I did, but that was yesterday morning and I still haven’t heard back or received my refund. I’ll be calling again today, likely through an attorney’s office. The Federal Trade Commission gentleman was very rude too. They argued about the law and don’t seem to know it. I’d steer clear of the Super 8 by Wyndham in Vincennes, Indiana, especially if you have a service animal. The customer service was very rude, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Great room and top-notch service. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.
