Courtyard by Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront/North 37th Street

Angie made the stay feel special from check-in on. She was kind, professional, attentive, always smiling, and ready with helpful suggestions. The whole team was warm and focused on making us comfortable. We had an incredible stay at The Courtyard, and we’ll definitely return. Many thanks to everyone, especially Angie.

Our first night was miserable. Guests in the next room partied from 10:00 until 4:00am. We called the front desk four times and were assured it would be handled, but nothing changed. Because of that, I asked for some kind of compensation. At checkout, I was told one night would be comped, but that never happened and I was billed the full amount. The room was among the worst I’ve stayed in, with old, extremely uncomfortable mattresses. The manager blatantly lied to me. Spend your money on reasonable, comfortable accommodations instead of throwing it away here.

We were on the 11th floor. The rooms were clean, but the bedroom heater didn’t work and the TVs were unreliable. I had to call IT, and eventually someone from the site came over to fix them. It took two trips to the front desk, four hours apart, to get an extra blanket. The street side is noisy, and the pool was closed.

The room smelled musty, and construction started early enough to make the stay less comfortable than I’d expected. Still, the manager and hotel staff were terrific: professional, understanding, and quick to deal with my concerns. They even helped cancel the rest of my nights without a penalty. I appreciate how they tried to make things right, and they earned the four stars.
