Hilton Vacation Club Oceanaire Virginia Beach

The location was perfect, right on the strip with easy shopping and plenty of food nearby. Families can also use the playground and athletic gym set up on the beach. Our room was supposed to have a partial ocean view, but it was pretty much a full view. The room, pool, and property were all clean and well maintained, and the staff were helpful and quick to respond. The parking garage is an easy walk, about a block and a half away, though I can see it being difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There’s construction near the hotel that can be noisy during the day, but that isn’t something the hotel can fix. We had a wonderful stay and will come back.

The room layout was elegant, and the service was great. I’d prefer a lower tub entry and shower, with more safety bars. At the moment there’s nothing to hold onto, and the tub bottom is slippery. Even so, I highly recommend this Hilton resort.

We went back this time and stayed next door at the ocean club. They put us in a handicapped room. That wasn’t a big deal, but I’m 6'2" and the appliances and counters were all really low. The room had just been painted, and the smell was awful. There was also a lot of dust in the AC vents and filters, which was especially unpleasant because I have a lung disease. My fiance and I told the front desk several times, but they seemed more concerned with whether we’d received the trash barrel that wasn’t in the room when we arrived. I wasn’t impressed. This has no reflection on their sister resort next door, which is top notch. This place needs more than a remodel. The place is beautiful, super clean, right on the water, with great ocean views and four pools, two outside and one heated. Staff were super friendly. I highly recommend this place.

The second floor also serves as the service floor, which isn’t great when some of the suites are there, especially for what you pay. Still, the place is beautiful, with gorgeous views, really nice rooms, and suites with two bathrooms. It’s right on the beach and across the street from restaurants. There isn’t a convenience store right nearby, but it’s only a 10-minute walk or a very quick drive, and that’s not the hotel’s fault. The online pictures don’t do it justice. Very nice overall, though having the service floor share space with some suites is a choice.
